The first State Championships were played in the 1974-1975 season as an Under 10 boys competition between tee-ball players from Morley Eagles Baseball Club, Perth Baseball Club, and Wembley Baseball Club.
Nowadays, the State Championships are played over the March long weekend at Yokine Reserve. Each year, more than 80 teams come together to represent their clubs from across the metropolitan and country regions in 5 age groups, and many divisions.
