TBAWA State Championships

The first State Championships were played in the 1974-1975 season as an Under 10 boys competition between tee-ball players from Morley Eagles Baseball Club, Perth Baseball Club, and Wembley Baseball Club.

Nowadays, the State Championships are played over the March long weekend at Yokine Reserve. Each year, more than 80 teams come together to represent their clubs from across the metropolitan and country regions in 5 age groups, and many divisions.

The format of the fixtures varies slightly depending on the number of teams in the division. Below is a clarification of how many games the divisions will play depending on the number of teams in the division, which is how it has been played for many years, and many more to come.

  • 8 team divisions:
Each team plays 2 games on Saturday, 2 games on Sunday, 1 game on Monday. However, the games on Sunday depend on the outcome of the Saturday games. More information can be found here.
  • 7 team divisions:
Each team plays 2 games on Saturday, 2 games on Sunday, 2 games on Monday. This means that each team plays every other team once.
  • 6 team divisions:
Each team plays the other teams in the division once – 2 games on Saturday, 2 games on Sunday, 1 game on Monday
  • 5 team divisions:
Each team plays each of the other teams in the division once – 2 games on Saturday, 2 games on Sunday. On Monday the top 4 teams play 1st against 2nd, and 3rd against 4th. These results will be added to the ladder for the division. The 5th placed team after the first two days has no game on Monday.
  • 4 team divisions:
Each team plays the other teams in the division twice – 2 games on Saturday, 2 games on Sunday, 2 games on Monday
